June 18, 2013 – Kao Kalia Yang Community Discussion hosted by MPR & Wilder Research

CAAR representatives plan to be at the June 18 “Building Trust: Bridging the Story and the Storyteller.” Join community members at this free event from 4-6pm at Wilder Center – 451 Lexington Parkway St. Paul.

Last year Kao Kalia Yang & her uncle, Eng Yang were asked to tell the story of Yellow Rain on RadioLab. You hear on the podcast, Kalia and her Uncle being dismissed by the radio hosts. Little conversation and productive action has transpired since the podcast aired. The purpose of this community discussion is to “bridge the gap between the stories in our communities and the storytellers who have the power to make sure they are heard.”
